Groundbreaking in-house sampling technology from Mimaki debuts at Luxepack 2015
New total solution is a must-have for designers of luxury packaging
Amsterdam, September 16, 2015
Designers in the luxury packaging sector will be fighting to get their hands on the latest in-house proofing solution from Mimaki when it debuts at Luxepack in October. Not only does the system slash turnaround times for mock-ups and samples from the current three to four days to within the hour, but it is also allows highly cost effective design, print and cutting to all be handled in-house.
Mimaki’s breakthrough Original Goods Packaging System (OGPS) offers a total solution delivering to-die-for products with a superfast project turnaround and at a competitive price. It is set to revolutionise design and production of small lot packaging and is a must-have technology for designers, packaging converters, commercial printers and small manufacturers. The system allows designers to check out the viability and visibility of their designs and to produce real samples in exceptional quality, including varnish effects.
Bespoke in-house sampling
“Bespoke packaging has become a leading trend as customers increasingly seek product personalisation,” explains Mike Horsten, General Manager Marketing EMEA at Mimaki Europe. “Digital innovation is moving fast and production challenges which previously took several days can now be delivered within the hour. I am convinced that digital applications including on-demand printing are set to become an integral part of luxury packaging.”
The OGPS combines Esko’s market leading ArtiosCAD software with Mimaki’s UJF-6042 LED UV Inkjet printer and CFL-605RT Cutting Plotter. It brings professional packaging design within reach of all manufacturers, regardless of size, allowing designers to deliver unique packaging solutions in-house, and enabling larger organisations to produce samples ahead of full production.
The luxury of talking to a show partner
The design and packaging community will be able to see the new system in action at Luxepack in Monaco from 21-28 October. Now in its 28th edition, the show boasts some 450 exhibitors and will welcome visitors from around the world. Mimaki, as a global industry leader and manufacturer of wide-format inkjet printers and cutting plotters, is an official show partner. The company will showcase its visual expertise at stand DD2bis with specialist advisors on hand to provide counsel on all options available in the area of digital production.
