  • Flexibility in technology...
    Unique in the textile printing market today is the possibility to change from direct printing to sublimation paper printing by installing an easy-to-click vacuum platen.
    When printing direct-to-textile, the excess ink penetrated through the fabric is drained by an ink-receiving channel.

    When printing on heat transfer paper however, a vacuum platen can easily be clicked-on, needed for paper printing to prevent the paper from cockling.

  • Unique high head gap...
    Accurate dot placement even when using a higher print head gap.
    With unstable fabrics or thin paper, we want to prevent the print heads from touching the media. Mimaki has developed its own waveform for the print heads to fire ink drops at a faster speed. Therefore, it is possible to lift the print heads up to 7mm high, which still results in a high print quality.

Mimaki is offering a total of 10 different ink sets including 3 dual ink configurations to even broaden the range of applications. Available ink types include: Reactive (RC400), Acid (AC400), Pigment (TP400), Disperse (DD400), Direct Sublimation (SB420) and Paper Transfer Sublimation (SB411).

Choose pigment inks to create home textile and fashion with cotton and linen fabrics. Go for sublimation inks to create sportswear, softsignage, fashion and home textile on polyester fabrics. Choose disperse disperse for superior fastness by applying high temperature fixation on polyester, nylon and acetate to create flags, industrial textile, home textile and high-end fashion. Or go for reactive of acid inks if you want to achieve vivid colours.

Features of TS30-1300

Easy-to-operate entry model that can be used at ease

This is an entry model of the sublimation transfer printer that features only a selected set of functions so that you can readily use it. The printer is bundled with Mimaki’s RIP software, RasterLink6, enabling you to start printing right after introducing it. It also comes with Mimaki’s Sb54 ink, which offers stable ink ejection by lowering the settlement property of dye. Even first-time users can use the sublimation transfer printer at ease.

Printing on necessary items in necessary quantities as needed

TS30-1300 realizes the in-house production of high-mix low-volume print products, such as textile or sports apparel prototyping or the creation of customized items. Performing the printing jobs, formerly outsourced to a subcontractor, the in-house production reduces the lead time of sample delivery to the client. Additionally, when the client requests a change in the design, the new design can be printed and delivered immediately without asking a subcontractor. The TS30-1300 enhances presentation ability and increases business opportunities.

Polyester fabric is now widely used in the textile and apparel industry. With the TS30-1300, you can print original full-color images not only on clothes but also on such items as bags, scarves, tights, and socks. Designs with variables, such as player numbers and names on sports uniforms, can also be printed easily just by editing the data.
 

 
Customized items
Images can be printed on polyester-made banners, towels, T-shirts, handkerchiefs, mouse pads, neck straps, cushions, etc. as well as on polyester-coated mugs, glasses, coasters, etc. With a single printer, you can create many different customized items, which helps broaden the breadth of your business.

Adjustable higher head gap settings for thicker fabrics

  • While printing on raised fibre surface textiles, a high head gap setting is required to prevent contact between the printhead and any raised fibres. (FIG.1)
  • On more conventional models, restricted head gap reduces the accuracy of ink droplet placement. (FIG.2)

ICC profiles can be created simply to match a target colour by following the wizard.

Printing and color fixation occur in a single printer unit

The Tx500P-3200DS contains a heating device that allows simultaneous printing and color fixation. Further, in order to deliver optimum finish, the printer and the heater units are linked. The printer starts printing when the heater reaches the optimum temperature. This novel feature considerably reduces production time and expands business opportunities by accommodating demands from sample creation to large-lot print production.

The maximum printing speed (130 m2/h)* enables high productivity

12 printheads_staggered 3-lineTo achieve high printing speeds, 12 printheads are arranged in a staggered 3-line array. A range of printing modes, from a high-speed (130 m2/h) draft mode to a high-quality mode, is available to best suit the required finished print appearance. Tx500P-3200DS can meet the urgent order request, which is most often demanded in the soft sign market.

Reliable structure and technique achieves speed printing

Stable textile transportation assures accurate printing
New AMF (*) is installed in the feeding and take-up units to secure the stable textile feeding of the rolled media (width: 3.2 m, weight: 130 kg) and minimize textile shrinkage after heating. Furthermore, a pulling roller smooths polyester fabrics, which have the tendency to wrinkle. These features maintain an appropriate tension in the textile throughout the printing process to deliver excellent print results.
* The AMF applies an appropriate tension to the textile through a tension bar.

Waveform control technique assures beautiful printing
Each ink color has its own specific gravity and viscosity. To achieve precise placement of ink droplets onto the media, Mimaki designed an optimum waveform that allows the printhead to jet each ink color at the appropriate jetting angle without losing high ink droplet circularity even at a high head gap. Moreover, various ink droplet sizes can be precisely placed from a minimum of 6pl to a maximum of 24pl. Small droplets create beautiful high-resolution printing results, while large droplets are very useful for high-speed printing. Thus, Tx500P-3200DS satisfies a wide range of needs including beautiful high-quality printing and productive high-speed printing.

MAPS4 delivers stable high-quality printing
Swath boundaries are generally straight lines; therefore, a slight misalignment between boundaries causes banding or uneven color printing. MAPS4 reduces banding and uneven color printing with blurred boundaries similar to gradation printing.


Uninterrupted printing solutions

Ink and media shortage, clogged nozzles, and other minor problems influence stable productivity. The Tx500P-3200DS fully supports continuous printing with reliable technologies.

NCU automatically detects and recovers clogged nozzles
Clogged nozzles are detected automatically by monitoring ink droplets with sensors. When clogged nozzles are located, these are automatically cleaned, reducing waste printing. Nozzles are checked per transfer file.

NRS continues printing operations
If the clogged nozzles are not recovered after cleaning through the NCU function, the NRS selects substitute nozzles and then restarts printing. This is a significant novelty, since previously, when nozzle cleaning fails, the printhead has to be repaired by a technician, and the printing operation ceases until the printhead is repaired. The NRS allows the printer to continue printing without interruption by using non-defective nozzles as substitutes for defective nozzles until the technician arrives.*
* NRS may not be activated depending on print modes.

TX500-1800B features newly developed 6 print head technology, in staggered formation, featuring 1280 nozzles per printhead, delivering up to 140 m2/h in 4-colour high speed mode. Variable drop sizes of 7 picolitres and 21 picolitres are available.

Minimum drop size of 7 picolitres realizes smooth gradation and high-definition print. Image quality is further enhanced with variable dot sizes of 7 picolitres and 21 picolitres, delivering non-granular and smooth print outputs.

 


High quality, reliable print output

Correct Feeding Control (CFC) This function reduces and corrects banding issues by measuring the feed rate of the fabric and automatically reducing and correcting the level differences in the joints of the conveyance belt.
Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS) tx500-1800B-mapsWhen banding cannot be eliminated by feed correction, the MAPS function makes it less visible by dispersing pass boundaries. (NB: when using MAPS, the print speed depends on the selected mode) Nozzle Recovery Function In the event of a nozzle malfunction not being repairable by the use of the maintenance function, printing can continue by the use of another nozzle, without any loss of productivity or reduction in image quality.


User-friendly functions

Uninterrupted Ink Supply System (UISS) Two ink bottles per colour can be set with the UISS function. When an ink bottle runs out, another bottle of the same colour automatically starts supplying ink. Degassing-module-tx500-1800BMimaki Degassing Module (MDM-20) Equipped with MDM-20 which eliminates gasses and bubbles inside the ink, enabling the printer to use bottled inks instead of conventional degassed ink packs, thereby reducing ink costs.
