MIMAKI ENGINEERING CO., LTD. (the head office / Nagano, Japan, President / Akira Ikeda) announced new professional cutting plotters:CG-75FXII/130FXII/160FXII. MIMAKI has offered cutting plotters with high precision and high performance for the sign industry since 1987 and is widely recognized as the industry’s most reliable manufacture of cutting plotters. In 2004, Mimaki introduced the innovative CG-FX series which enables precise contour cutting of printed matters with the epoch-making continuous crop mark detection. Now usage of cutting plotters is expanding to making various kinds of stickers and seals as well as sign graphics.
The CG-FXII series, successor models to CG-FX series, has renewed the design and includes a new "Over-cut function" which makes the starting point and the ending point overlap to eliminate uncut portions of thick or sticky media. FineCut, the standard plug-in cutting software, is also enhanced: the new "Cutting preview function" can check start position, cutting lines, cutting direction and cutting order before starting to cut, to ensure proper cutting. If necessary, the cutting conditions can be changed as well.
"With the JV33 series, solvent inkjet printers introduced last year, the CG-FXII series will develop new uses for cutters; for example: small-run on-demand production of stickers, etc." said Mr. Masafumi Okabe, General Manager of Mimaki’s Plotter Division.
Main features of the CG-FXII series
Precise contour cutting by continuous crop mark detection and Half Cut function
By detecting crop marks on the printed matter, complex contour cutting of shapes can be made making individual adjustments automatically. With the original Half-Cut function, the backing sheet can be cut leaving a little bit of half cut connecting points, which can be easily detached when necessary. A light pointer enables easy positioning adjustment of crop mark.
Media- feeding function to ensure long accurate tracking
When cutting long signs, the media-feeding function pulls out the length of media to be cut beforehand, which removes the media tension . As a result a highly accurate long cut without influence of tension is achieved.
Over-cut function to eliminate uncut portion
The over-cut function makes the starti and end positions overlap, which eliminates the uncut portion of thick or sticky media.
Plug-in cutting software FinCut 7 (included)
FineCut 7, plug-in software applicable for CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator CS3, enables 100% of the cutting-edge functions of the CG-FXII series to respond to high-level cutting needs such as contour cutting, creating cutting data from image data, divisional cutting of large-sized signs and overlapping space with tiling function.
Convenient functions for effective cutting
• Having selectable clamp pressure with high and low setting, slipping of long media is prevented. By using grid rollers damage to the media is averted.
• Selectable three jog speeds ensure proper and easy positioning of the head to the cut point.
• Up to 6 roll media can be set at a time (1 set standard)
• Special adaptor to use commercially available pens, auto sheet cutter and a USB interface are included.
